The marriage is working pretty well, they fancy each other like mad, respect each other and are trying for a baby - until Alanna has an accident, and loses her recent memory. To Reece's shock she still thinks she's married to her previous husband, and he is disturbed at what he learns of her previous marriage. He's forced to reassess everything he knows about Alanna - she's not just some beautiful woman he can show off to the world - she's a person with feelings and some terrible demons in her past. He begins to fall in love with Alanna the woman - but dare he tell her, given her mistrust of love and all it entails? This was a great novel - full of suspense and emotion. The plot is unusual and gripping - the reader waits with bated breath to see what will happen when Alanna gets her memory back and dreads the moment at the same time. I particularly liked the hero - from being a rather self-centred millionaire he becomes a tender loving husband (though at no point is he mean). Alanna's journey from strong woman to the terrified one she was during her first marriage, and coming out of that nightmare for the second time back to her hard-earned independent self is poignant.
